What is your favourite location for a playground? St Columbanus Green, where the old playground was situated in the 1970s is very boggy and wet, as the river Slann, flows into the Dodder  near here. It has also been surrounded by an iron fence in recent years, during the building of the Luas depot.  This is the location favoured by the Mulvey and Columbanus Community Group.

However, Dun Laoghaire County Council wants the new playground to be situated closer to resident's homes, so The Green opposite St Patrick Doyle Road, and St Luke's Crescent, near where the old pig farm used to be, has also emerged as a favourite location. This site needs cleaning up and offers the advantage of being very close to The Casino, the former home of 1798 hero Robert Emmett. It is also closer to the shops in  Clonskeagh, Dundrum Road and Farranboley  and is close enough to the Dodder walk to be incorporated in it.

What do you think? Columbanus Green, Patrick Doyle Road or somewhere else?  It's up to you to  tell us.
